Problem with Medical Visa Invitation Letter Number Column While Applying Online? Do this
What is the issue?
- Patients applying for medical visa for India are facing issue with their online application with the medical visa invitation letter number
- Applicants filling up the invitation letter number are unable to proceed forward leaving them stuck with their application
Medical visa applicants who are applying online for their medical visa for India are stuck and unable to proceed ahead with their application. The error? The system is not accepting the medical visa invitation letter that is mentioned on the hospital’s letter.
The Indian Government has recently rolled out the Ayush Portal where the treating hospital in India that are issuing the visa invitation letter to the patient need to upload the patient’s information.
Upon uploading the information on Ayush portal, the portal issues a letter which has a medical visa invitation letter number that needs to be filled in the online visa application. This number now while being mentioned on the online application gives an error “Please fill the medical invitation letter no issued on the same passport” leaving the applicants confused and stuck.

Like everyone, MyMedTrip’s patients who are applying for their medical visa application online from Sierra Leone, Fiji, Thailand, Kenya, Uganda and Zimbabwe are also reporting similar issues.
Why is this issue cropping up?
The Indian government is in the process of streamlining the medical visa application process. Prior to Ayush portal’s rollout, it was a normal practice for take a medical visa invitation letter from any hospital in any city and upon the visa’s approval, travel to any city to any hospital and fly back.
To track if the patients have visited the hospital or not for the treatment was a manual process and to streamline it, the government is rolling out the Ayush portal.
It appears that while integrating the Ayush system with the e-visa’s online portal, there is a recent technical error that has cropped up. The officials have confirmed that they are aware about this and working on it and it may take a while before the resolution.
The solution
We have advised all our patients applying for the medical visa to approach the embassy in person and apply using the offline method till the systems are back in place. This will help the medical travelers to get their visa on time and avoid any further inconvenience to the patients.
