On 23rd June 2025 at around 11 pm Indian standard time, news broke out that Iran has fired missile at US base in Qatar. This was in retaliation after the US missiles hit nuclear targets in Iran.
Qatar is home to the largest US base in the Middle East and headquarters for US Central Command (CENTCOM) Forward which hosts 10,000 + troops.
What does this mean for people flying to India from various destinations?
There will be flight disruptions for at least 24th June 2025 and later dates maybe affected incase the air space closure continues. Passengers are requested to keep a close watch on their airline’s social media handles and make their travel plans accordingly.
The Indian Embassy in Qatar has issued the following advisory.
The Qatari’s official has released a press statement that the country is stable and there is no cause for concern.
