About hand and wrist

When there are two small incisions made in the wrists, it is the endoscopic method which is minimally invasive. When there is only one incision, it is the traditional open method.
For golfer’s elbow release surgery, a long incision is made along the elbow. Following this, the surgeon removes the surrounding muscles and tissues. In the next step, the surgeon cuts into the flexor tendon and cleans it, removes the damaged parts, and attaches it to surrounding areas.
In the final step, for all cases, the surgeon closes off the incision with stitches and bandages.
Recovery after surgery
For trigger finger surgery, bandages are opened in one week. The patient will be able to move the operated finger from the following day onwards. Following this, light activities can be handled with the operated finger. Strenuous activities should be done after two weeks have passed and physiotherapy sessions must be adhered to.
Complete recovery takes a few months. One must inform the doctor if the patient experiences high fever, persistent pain, or bleeding.
For carpal tunnel syndrome surgery, bandages are opened in one-two weeks. After this, the patient will have to undergo physiotherapy. Undergoing this will catalyze the recovery process.
Total recovery will take a few months. During this time, one must visit the doctor immediately in case of high fever, persistent pain, swelling, and excessive bleeding.
For Golfer’s elbow release surgery, the patient will be provided with a splint to rest the elbow. During this time, the hand must be kept at an elevated position to avoid inflammation. The splint may be removed after six weeks have passed. However, the patient can go back to light activities in about two weeks.
Recovery takes a total of three months. During this time, physical therapy must be adhered to.
